    Lucy Hall

On a mission to encourage companies to consume consciously, reduce plastic and support fair trade I left my corporate job where I was working as an Events Manager to set up Crafty Nomad. Together with Ocean Sole, a social and environmental enterprise based in Kenya, we are trying to clear the oceans of plastic waste one flip flop at a time.

  • Corporate merchandising with sole

Tidal currents wash up thousands of flip flops every year on a stretch of coastline in Kenya. These create an environmental disaster for the marine ecosystem interfering with birds and turtle hatching sites. Local people collect the waste flipflops and turn them into these incredible, colourful creations.

The small animals make a unique and memorable give away for conferences & trade shows (which can include your company logo on swing tags), because:

    • Their vibrant colours are sure to attract customers to your stand.

    • The story behind how they are made, how they are helping tackle marine destruction and the fact that they are produced by a social enterprise make a real conversation starter and keep people engaged.

    • Most importantly they demonstrate the core values of your business, through and through - that this a business that cares about the environment and supporting fair trade.

    • They make a nice gift to take home to the children.

    • Plus can become a collectable year on year.

The animals come in a variety of sizes, up to 2.5metres high. We can also create bespoke sculptures animals or key rings to match to your company logo.

Sold as decorations rather than toys, and not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
Lead Time: 4-6 weeks depending on quantity ordered.

  • Testimonials

    Corporate merchandise

    Events Manager, Law Firm

"Every year we are stuck for ideas on what to giveaway at our exhibitions however since taking a chance with these safari animals we haven't looked back - the animals fly off the stand - people are initially attracted to their bright colours and become curious as to what they are. When we tell them they are made of waste flip flops they want to learn more. Raising awareness, clearing our oceans and supporting fair trade, what better message to send to our clients."

    Client christmas gifts

    Phil Cooper, Partner, Context Consulting

"Lovely idea and we're proud to support a new business that genuinely makes a difference. The colours perfectly matched our company logo, and some clients have already told us how much they love their gift."

    Office wall art

Sam Yauner, Managing Director, Corten Ltd

"We've enjoyed working with Crafty Nomad on her freight forwarding requirements and strongly believe in supporting small businesses trying to create positive impact - so much so our newest piece of office wall art is a beautiful elephant trophy head made from waste flip flops."
